Jack Mitchell – Field Superintendent

Jack Mitchell graduated from Elkmont High School in 1971. He worked with a printer company until he decided to join an electric firm and attend the IBEW apprenticeship program in 1979. He completed his apprenticeship program in 1982.

He joined the Triangle Electric Company and worked there for six years. There he was an electrician on the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Decatur, Alabama. He also worked at the Decatur railroad lift bridge site. He spent two years with Mid South Electric before joining Stewart Electric Company, Inc. in 1985.

Jack became an expert in sports field lighting working on many ball fields and football stadiums including the Merrimack Park, Palmer Park, John Hunt Park, Madison City Schools and Milton Frank Stadium. Jack also mastered traffic lighting and was the supervisor over the Lawrenceburg, Tennessee traffic lighting upgrade. This experience also enhanced Jack’s knowledge of electric control systems which he used setting up control panels at plant and manufacturing facilities throughout the Tennessee Valley.

Jack Mitchell and his team recently won the “outstanding subcontractor of the year” award at the Associate Builders and Contractors (ABC) Excellence In Construction competition in 2008. The Huntsville Surgery Center was a very tough job to complete. With Jack’s constant attention to detail and concern for the public Stewart Electric was recognized as an excellent electrical contractor.  Jack is a thoughtful, competent electrical supervisor who is always looking ahead to prevent costly problems that hold up construction activities and job successes. Preplanning and scope understanding helps Jack keep the team focussed and the project completion date on schedule.
