Larry Stewart – President and General Manager of Stewart Electric Co., Inc.
Larry Stewart, a graduate of Hazel Green High School in 1966, attended John C. Calhoun Technical School and graduated in Electrical Technology in 1971. Larry worked in the Valley as an electrician and foreman on commercial and industrial projects in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.
In 1976 Larry Stewart began Stewart Electric Company, Inc. with one employee, Charles Hall. His company grew steadily each year. Starting in Hazel Green in a 1,000 sq. ft. building, Larry moved the business to Huntsville to a 2000 sq. ft. building on 6th Ave. He moved the company to 8th Ave. into a new 4,000 sq. ft. building in 1985. He added 3,000 sq. feet in the nineties. In 2008 Stewart Electric moved one more time to the new 15,000 sq. ft. facility at 1009 A Cleaner Way SW, Huntsville, Alabama.
Larry Stewart is the General Manager of the Jack Daniels Distillery projects. He handles the industrial design build projects in Tennessee.
Larry Stewart has been very active in the community as a businessman endeavoring to bring continuous improvement to the quality of craftsmen as a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors State Board of Directors. He served as the chairman of the ABC Electrical Apprenticeship program. Larry was appointed by Mayor Yancura to serve on the Madison Contractor Board of Adjustments and Appeals from 1997 to 2005. He was appointed to the Electrical Contractor Licensing Board by Governor Guy Hunt in 1992 and re-appointed to the same board by Fob James finishing his service in 2000. He holds licenses in the State of Alabama, the State of Tennessee, the City of Nashville and Davidson County. Larry Stewart was one of the founding officers of the North Alabama Craft Training Foundation to provide apprenticeship training for all trades in North Alabama.
Larry was appointed to the Advisory Board of the First National Bank in Fayetteville TN. in 1992. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the First National Bank in 2008 and is still serving in that post. He has helped the Bank to continue to grow and add new banking facilities throughout the Tennessee Valley.
Larry Stewart is the owner and manager of the Stewart Angus Farms in Mulberry, Tennessee; and also manages his Stewart Investment and Development LLC. in Huntsville, Alabama.
Larry Stewart’s main concern is the Stewart Electric Co., Inc. because his purpose is to provide the Tennessee Valley with a keenly efficient electrical company that takes pride in doing the job right, on time and on budget. The repeat business Stewart Electric sees each year is a testimony that his company keeps its promise to be the best.
Under Larry’s leadership the Stewart Electric Company has helped to build the Huntsville Surgery Center, the City of Huntsville/Madison County Consolidated Justice Center, the Laser Center to name a few of the recent projects. Stewart also played a major roll in the construction of the Calsonic Horse Arena in Shelbyville, Jack Daniel warehouses in Lynchburg, and the First National Bank in Pulaski Tennessee. Stewart Electric has worked closely with Crestwood Hospital in adding new additions and remodeling upgrades for the past 17 years.
